AVP Deputy Controller
Ryan Smith holds the title of Assistant Vice President-Deputy Controller for First Resource Bank. Ryan began his career as a bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). After leaving the OCC, Ryan joined FRB as a credit analyst & risk officer, working within the individual credit and portfolio management side of lending.
Ryan values First Resource Bank’s ability to mix a competitive drive with an easy-going culture. “I enjoy working at FRB because happy employees are a high priority – and that is felt here on a daily basis.”
Reflecting on his upbringing, Ryan attributes his strength of character to his parents’ selflessness. “From shuffling my sister and me to countless sporting events, to showing us what empathy and hard work look like, my parents provided a great foundation for my growth.”
Ryan graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead with a degree in Accounting and Finance. When away from the office, Ryan enjoys visiting the park with his dog Kona, playing recreational sports, and spending time with his family.
